| What is known today as the Ukraine used to be an important center to the East Slavic cul-ture in the middle Ages? When the Ukraine became dependant to Russia it lost its quick stint of independence during the years 1917-1921. It was under Russia’s control from 1922 to the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. The borders of Ukraine were only established as late as 1954. Since the country’s independence was re-established, their relationship with Russia seems still somewhat strained due to some political events that took place all those years ago. The country adopted a loose monetary policy toward the economy which resulted into a huge inflation in late 1993.
Luckily this has slowly changed for the better in recent years and with the help of a hope-fully strong and able leadership, the future of Ukraine is looking quite well due to the countries huge natural resources and their educated workforce. The building boom is at full force right now with such events as the European football championships being held in 2012. For real estate investors the current boom certainly holds its promises.
